Hypnosis for Childbirth

I love the use of self hypnosis during childbirth.  Self hypnosis is a tool for life – and so helpful for pregnancy, labor and birth, and post partum. You are fully aware and in control during self hypnosis.  The tools allow you to be relaxed so that your uterus can work efficiently and with the least amount of discomfort.

You’ll want to find inclusive classes because not all hypnosis childbirth classes have kept up with today’s families.  I highly recommend Lindsey Vick on my Partners in Health page.

What are you looking for in such classes?  Positive birth visuals and language.  Positive affirmations.  We are in a very negative culture regarding childbirth.  We need to retrain our brains of the truth – that we are meant to have babies and that it can be a beautiful, empowering and comfortable experience.  You’ll want to learn about bonding with your baby in the womb.  I love the Prenatal Parenting book or anything similar.  You’ll want to learn breathing for relaxation tools.  I still use them for myself in my own life! You’ll want a class that incorporates your partner or friend or family member to be by your side in achieving your deep relaxation.
